F. Pearl Hanson, 93, of Chippewa Falls, passed away Friday, February 14, 2014 at the Chippewa Manor.

She was born December 31, 1920 in Stanley to Irene (Musselman) and Joe Miller. Pearl grew up in Stanley and graduated from Stanley High School in 1938.

Pearl married Cecil W. Hanson on June 1, 1946 in Chippewa Falls. The couple resided in Chippewa Falls, where Pearl worked as a dental assistant for V.K. Remington, DDS and Gerald Quigley, DDS. She also worked as a teacher's aide at Hillcrest Elementary.

Pearl was a faithful member of Zion United Methodist Church in Chippewa Falls, where she held several offices throughout the years. She was also active in the community as a Triniteam Caregiver, delivered Meals on Wheels and did Mission work. She was a member of the American Field Service, a member of the Chi-Hi Music Department and hosted a student from Argentina.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Alice (Gene) Thomas of Port Washington WI, Susan K. (Terry) Cathcart of Ishpeming, MI; a son, Thomas W. Hanson of Eau Claire; seven grandchildren, Chris (Erica) Halbleib of Port Washington WI, Lisa (Rob) Neith of Lake Mills WI, Carrie (Jesse) Harvala of Ishpeming MI, Patrick Cathcart of Marquette MI, Maria Cathcart of Chicago IL, Joylyn Hanson of Eau Claire, Nate Hanson of Duluth MN; six great-grandchildren, Margo and Nadia Halbleib, Jack Neith, Morgan, Spencer and Maggie Harvala; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Cecil on February 20, 2008; her daughter, Carol; a granddaughter, Heather Frances Cathcart; four sisters, Mabel Ricksford, Fern Shilts, June Phillippi, Evelyn Henke; three brothers, Ray Miller, Vernon "Bud" Miller and Donald Miller.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 20 at Zion United Methodist Church, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Sarah Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

Memorials in Pearl's honor may be designated to Zion United Methodist Church.

AFTERSERVICE

A funeral service for F. Pearl Hanson, 93, of Chippewa Falls was held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 20 at Zion United Methodist Church, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Sarah Johnson officiated and music was provided by organist, Carol Dean and vocalists, Peter Lea and Hannah Riley. Personal reflections were given by granddaughter, Lisa Neith and neighbor and friend, Peter Lea. Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Casket bearers were Bill Reed, Mike Murphy, Bob Helgemo, Ken Froelich, Art Mathews and Ben Goeman.
