Florence A. Lange, 64, of Cadott, town of Goetz, died Monday, April 8, 2013 at her home.

She was born November 18, 1948 in Colfax to Dorothy (Secraw) and Herbert Michels. She grew up in Colfax and graduated from Colfax High School in 1966.

Following high school, Florence moved to Chicago where she worked as a nanny. She then moved to Minneapolis and worked for a plastics company before moving back to Chippewa Falls, where she worked as a machine operator for Pactiv (formerly Amoco Foam Products) until its recent closing. She had been an employee there for over 43 years.

She married Carl Lange on September 27, 1991 at Our Hope Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls. They resided in Cadott. Florence and Carl loved spending time at their cabin in Conover, where she also developed many friendships with neighbors. She was an active and devoted member of Our Hope Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls. She was very generous, giving of herself and volunteering her time to many church projects. Her family will remember her for her willingness to help with family gatherings and was always the first one in the kitchen cleaning up so others could visit. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Carl of Cadott; four sisters, Lorraine Zillmer of Bloomer, Beverly Michels of Colfax, June Knutson of Altoona, Sandy (James) Lloyd of Chippewa Falls; five brothers, James (Betty) Michels of Colfax, Raymond (Lanna) Michels of Bloomer, Arnold (Theresa) Michels of Colfax, Bill (Linda) Michels of Elk Mound, John Michels of Colfax; step-mother-in-law, Alice Lange of Watertown; stepdaughter, Marie (Rakesh) Kumar of Marble, NC; stepson, Thomas Lange of El Paso, TX; step-granddaughter, Peyton Taylor Ball; brother-in-law, Paul (Sandy) Lange of Watertown; sister-in-law, Helen (Kent) Mayer of Rogers, AR; nieces and nephews, Dan, David, Tammy, Nick, Chism, Logan, and Samantha Michels, Debi Lewis, Tony and Gary Smith, Tina Gunnufson, Tammy Mullen, Sabrina and Brandon Lloyd; and many great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 12 at Our Hope Lutheran Church with the Rev. Philip Pitt officiating. Private interment will be at a later date.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, April 11 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated and may be designated to Our Hope Lutheran Church.
