Florence Rode

Florence R. "Mickey" Rode, 90, of Chippewa Falls, passed away on her 90th birthday, Friday, March 11, 2011 at the Chippewa Manor Nursing Home in Chippewa Falls, surrounded by her family.

She was born March 11, 1921 in Chippewa Falls to Theresa (Billock) and Thorwald Thompson. Following high school, Mickey attended beauty school and at one time, owned three area salons.

She married Charles "Bud" Rode on September 13, 1947 in Stillwater, Minnesota. They lived in Chippewa Falls for a time before moving to Milwaukee, where they lived for 20 years. They moved back to the area in 1972 and managed the Badger Motel in Hallie. Bud preceded her in death on November 20, 1987.
