Frank E. Jack Fischer, 90, of Chippewa Falls, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at St. Josephs Hospital in Chippewa Falls.
He was born December 22, 1922 in Chippewa Falls to Olga (Hansen) and Frank Fischer.
Jack married Ruth Lavalle on May 1, 1946 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls.
Jack proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII from January 1943 until being honorably discharged in July 1945.
He worked as a logger; as a bottler at Chippewa Springs; and at the Northern Center as an aide. Jack was an outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish. He was a lifetime member of the NRA; a 60+ year member of the UCT; and a member of the Chippewa Bowhunters.
Survivors include a daughter, Jean (Steve) Loiselle of Trego; a son, John (Vicky) Fischer of Eau Claire; five grandchildren, Deanne (Ron) Zezulka of Menomonie, Scott (Laurie) Loiselle of Austin, TX, Shane (Becca) Fischer of Rogers, MN, Chase and Blake Fischer of Eau Claire; four great-grandchildren, Lucas Fischer, Nicole and Stevie Postle and Doc Loiselle; special friend, Praxie Bunce of Chippewa Falls; and Jacks best friend and kitty, Jake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, cousin, Phyllis Borcherding; and his wife, Ruth on April 11, 2000.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 15 at Central Lutheran Church with Pastor Sherwood Wilson of Living Word Church in Eau Claire, officiating. Interment with military honors conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council will be in Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
