Fred E. Stoll Jr., 87, passed away, Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at his home on Chippewa St., Chippewa Falls under the care of Mayo Clinic Home Health Hospice, surrounded by his family.

He was born March 28, 1927 in Milwaukee to Anna (Hackle) and Fred Stoll Sr. He lived in West Allis, WI until his family moved to the Island Lake area in Rusk County.

He entered the US Army in 1945 and was stationed in Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1946.

Fred married Rita Powers on June 25, 1949 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Bruce. They lived and farmed in Big Bend near Island Lake where they raised their 12 children.

He worked at the Ladysmith Paper Mill for 10 years and then moved his family to Lake Hallie in Chippewa County in 1969. He then worked at Presto Industries for 12 years.

Fred and his family were members of St. Olaf Parish in Eau Claire for a number of years and later where members of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Chippewa Falls.

Surviving Fred are his12 children, Theresa Stoll of Milwaukee, Timothy (Mary) Stoll of South Korea, Christine Tina (Everett) Miles of Eau Claire, Fred C. Stoll of Merrill, Mary (Randy) Ackley of Cadott, Suzanne Stoll, Terry (Kim) Stoll all of Chippewa Falls, Paul (Shari) Stoll, Greg (Kelly) Stoll all of Bloomer, Kathleen Stoll of Jessup, Maryland, Francine (Larry) Clouse, Amy Stoll all of Bridgeport, WV, Maria (Corbin) Metzgar of Chippewa Falls; 23 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wonderful wife, Rita on November 4, 2002; a daughter in infancy; parents, Fred and Anna Stoll; sisters, Agatha Redlinger, Dorothy Trokan and Margaret Stoll

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Diana, Laurel and Becca of the Mayo Hospice Program, the staff at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire and Dr. Weindorfer and also the Chippewa Manor for all their help and support.

Fred was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 14 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Chippewa Falls with Fr.Victor Inbaraj officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council. Interment will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 15 at St. Francis Cemetery, Town of Washington, Rusk County.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Sunday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.

AFTERSERVICE

A funeral service for Fred E. Stoll Jr., 87, of Chippewa Falls was held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 14 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Chippewa Falls. Fr. Victor Inbaraj officiated at the funeral mass and music was provided by Judy Brist. Military honors were conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council and Thomas Eder Jr. bugled taps. Interment was at St. Francis Cemetery, Rusk County. Casket bearers were Matt, Mike, Mark and Grady Stoll, Chad Miles, David Ackley and Daniel Clouse.
