Gary Roper

Gary L. Roper, 76, of the town of Lafayette, Chippewa Falls, died Monday, September 4, 2017, at Rem Wisconsin Home in Cadott.

He was born August 14, 1941, in Isanti, MN to Lloyd and Beatrice (Stone) Roper.

Gary served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.

After returning he married Lola "the saint". They had known each other since age 10 and 13 as their parents were friends.

Gary worked for Soo Line and then cable TV construction.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, old cars and motorcycles. The grandkids enjoyed his many stories.

Gary is survived by his wife, Lola; children, Cary (Theresa) Roper of Anson, Tracy (Ryan) Beachem of Cadott, Candice Roper of Chippewa Falls, and Jason (Sonja) Roper of Jim Falls; grandchildren, Cody (Anna) Roper, Matthew Roper, Nicole Wajek, Zach Roper, Coleton Roper, and Ashton Roper; great-grandchildren, Margaret Roper, Alexis Wajek, Trenten Wajek, and Sophia Roper; sister, Joy (Ken) Brewer of Anoka, MN; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Beatrice; sisters, Kay Kloog and Rita Mai; and brother, David Roper.

We know Gary had many friends but his wish was to have only a private family service.
