George Warren "Buddy" Grandish, 75, of the town of Lafayette, Chippewa Falls, went to be with his Lord after a struggle with dementia and cancer. He passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017 surrounded by family and friends.
George was born July 19, 1941, in Milwaukee, Wis. He graduated from South Shore High School, and after his induction into the service he served for two years in Paris, France. George oversaw a squadron of military police in Vietnam, where he finished his military career. He was a brave and loyal soldier, as well as a patient and loving husband and father. Family was the most important thing to George.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elva Grandish; sisters, Dawn and Pam; and nephew, Dean.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Annetta Grandish; four children, Sandra Cimino, Diane (Tony) Anderson, Marvin (Corrine) White, and Jedediah White; 13 grandchildren, Ricky, AJ, John, Noah, Caleb, Isaiah, Andrew, Jacob, Rachel, Hannah, Chloe, Bryce, and Paityn; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 17 at Chippewa Valley Bible Church, 531 E. South Ave., Chippewa Falls with Pastor Jim Woldhuis officiating. Military Honors will be provided by The Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council immediately following the service. Interment will be held at Northern Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Spooner, Wis.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at church on Wednesday.
