Gerald R. “Jerry” Kuechenmeister, 67, of the Town of Cleveland, died peacefully at home on Thursday, November 5, 2020, surrounded by his wife, children, and best dog friend, Zoey.
Jerry was born October 3, 1953, in Chippewa Falls to Valentine and Joan (Taylor) Kuechenmeister.
He married Pamela Rogge in 1973, and they had two children, Jason and Jennifer.
He was incredibly proud of his work ethic and 44-year career as a Local 460 Steelworker, ending his career at Berry Plastics in Chippewa Falls.
On December 20, 2003, he married the love of his life, Denise Hall, and gained two daughters, Stephanie and Kristie. Jerry and Denise built their dream home, a cabin in the woods, where they shared their home with family and friends; having many bonfires, cookouts, sledding parties, and holiday celebrations. The cabin in the woods was decorated to look like Santa’s House every year. Even though it was a chore, Jerry loved doing it. This home was the heart of the family, and it now feels empty without Jerry’s presence.
Jerry was a talented woodworker, often creating beautiful custom pieces for his family. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and ball thrower for Zoey. His favorite place to be was at his log cabin in the woods.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 16 years, Denise; children, Jason (Barb) Kuechenmeister of Eagle, WI, Jennifer (Thor) Thorson of Chippewa Falls, Stephanie (Jason) Borchert of Menomonie, and Kristie Walker (Tory Wells) of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Alex, Gavin and Trista Thorson, and Ava Borchert; his loyal companion, Zoey; siblings, Ken (Lynn) Kuechenmeister, Ed (Nancy) Kuechenmeister, Mary (Jerry) Reeves, Cindy (Dale) Lonetree, and Sheila Frey; brothers-in-law, Roger Williamson and Dave Hinrichs; mother-in-law, Lois Hall; brother-in-law, DeWayne Hall; sister-in-law, Diane Smith; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Val and Joan; siblings, Val Jr., Bob (Chini), Roxie Williamson, and Vicky Hinrichs; niece, Jessica; nephew, Christopher; father-in-law, Douglas Hall; and brother-in-law, Jeff Smith.
Jerry was a gentle giant and will leave a hole in the hearts of his family and friends; we will have our memories of him to last us a lifetime.
