Gerald V. Post, 58, of Stockton, CA, formerly of Chippewa Falls, died suddenly and unexpectedly while at work on Monday, October 20, 2014.

He was born November 27, 1955 in Chippewa Falls to Doris (Roder) and Vernon O. "Toad" Post. He graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1974. Jerry continued his education at UWEC and Iowa State University at Ames, earning a PhD in Economics.

Jerry taught at Oakland University in Michigan and Western Kentucky University and was currently a Professor in the Business School at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. He was an accomplished writer, having published many research articles and three textbooks.

Jerry loved to travel and was a physical fitness enthusiast and an avid biker.He attended the Tour-de-France and biked in Japan, the Canary Islands, Catalonia, and New Zealand, where he won his division in the 2010 Lake Hawea Epic 125k mountain bike race.

He is survived by his mother, Doris Post of Chippewa Falls; two sisters, Elaine Lorentzen of Belleville, IL, his twin sister, Janice (Duane) Post-White of Minneapolis, MN; a brother, Ted (Cathy) Post of Colorado Springs, CO; nieces and nephews, Laura (Adam) Pecher of Hong Kong, China, Brennan and Tyler White of Minneapolis, Madison and Samantha Post of Colorado Springs.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon, on March 31, 2010.

Donations are suggested to the Chippewa County Humane Association or to the University of the Pacific Eberhardt Business School for the Jerry Post Memorial Scholarship Fund.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m., Monday, November 10, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel , Chippewa Falls with the Rev. T. Clinton Stark of Zion Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls, officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral chapel.

AFTERSERVICE

A memorial service for Gerald V. Post, 58, of Stockton, California, was held at 1 p.m., Monday, November 10 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. T. Clinton Stark of Zion Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls officiated and music was provided by organist, Chuck Hull; flutists were sister, Elaine Lorentzen and niece, Samantha Post. Personal reflections were given by sister, Janice Post-White. Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
