Gertrude A. Boettcher, age 92 of Chippewa Falls, passed away on October 13, 2015. She was born on November 7, 1922, in Boyd WI, to Bernhard A. and Ernestine G. (Haag) Prahl.

Gertrude was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Boyd. She attended Boyd Public Grade and High School, then attended Vocational Business School in Eau Claire. Gertrude married Ernest F. Boettcher on August 21, 1942, in Chippewa Falls and resided there from then on. She worked at the U.S. Rubber Defense Plant during WWII. She also worked at Chippewa Printing for seven years. Later Gertrude worked for Production Credit Association for 21 years, retiring in September of 1984.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, their Altar Guild, Zion Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Zion Women's Society.

Gertrude is survived by her sons, James (Susan) of Chippewa Falls and Roger (Janice) of Dodgeville; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Lydia Schumacher; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Bertha Flackey; and brother, Bernhard Prahl.

A visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2015, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, 44 E. Columbia Street, Chippewa Falls. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2015, at Zion Lutheran Church, 110 E. Grand Avenue, Chippewa Falls, with a visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Rev. T. Clinton Stark will be officiating. Interment will be in Countryside Union Cemetery, Cadott WI.
