On Saturday, December 5, 2015, Glen Geissler passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer. He is lovingly remembered by many family and friends as an honorable man with a very gentle heart.

Born Glendon James, on January 29, 1942 to Alfred and Loretta (Schneider) Geissler in Chippewa Falls, Glen grew up on the family farm and attended St. Peter's Catholic School, St. Charles Catholic School and McDonell High School. He studied at UW Stout.

Glen married his bride, Mary Paulsen, of Bloomer on June 8, 1963. Together they built a legacy and beautiful family with their five daughters.

Glen became a Master Plumber while working at Bohl & Proulx Plumbing & Heating. He then started Geissler Plumbing in Bloomer, WI, which he sold after 25 years of business. After retiring in 2000, Glen stayed busy with his many hobbies. He was accomplished at woodworking and recently began wood-turning. He cultivated flower and vegetable gardens. In the winter, he used his green thumb to maintain and start planting in his greenhouse. Many hours were spent fishing and fixing up the cabin on Potato Lake. Glen especially delighted in cooking for and spending time with his family. His generosity was known by many, as he loved to share his time, talents, and creations with others.

Preceded in death by parents Alfred & Loretta Geissler, brother, Keith Geissler, infant daughter, and in-laws Henry & Jean Paulsen.

Survived by wife of 52 years Mary (Paulsen) Geissler; daughters: Lori Gonzalez of St, Paul, MN, Gail (Dan) Nayes of Bloomer, Amy (Pete) Solberg of Chippewa Falls, Karla (Zach Lien) Geissler of Eau Claire, Katie Geissler of Eau Claire; grandchildren: Lindsay (Gabriel) Sanchez, Luke (Amy) Nayes, Levi (Alissa) Nayes, Lydia Nayes, Sofia Gonzalez, Gabe, Isaac, Payton, and Allana Solberg, Izetta Lien; siblings: Iris (Marv) Jenneman of Chippewa Falls, Jean (Jerry) Anderl of Green Bay, Gary (Mary Pat) Geissler of Chippewa Falls, Sandy (Jim) Sullivan of River Falls; in-laws: Bill (Judy) Paulsen of Knoxville, TN, Susan (Mike) Zenner of Maricopa, AZ, Beth Paulsen of West Allis; and many loved nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 10 at Central Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Aaron Sturgis officiating. Interment will be at a later date at the Scandinavian Cemetery, town of Woodmohr, Chippewa County.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
