Glen W. Schick, 71, of Chippewa Falls, town of Eagle Point, died Monday, April 30, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Eau Claire.

He was born November 7, 1940 in Chippewa Falls to Lorraine (Sweeney) and Ralph Schick. He grew up in Chippewa Falls and graduated from Chi-Hi in 1958.

Glen married Karen Sletner on September 14, 1962 at Lake Street United Methodist Church in Eau Claire. They resided in Chippewa Falls and Glen worked at Wisconsin Bell for 36 years, retiring in 1995.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Chippewa Falls.

Glen had a zest for life and was always on the go. He loved to dance, especially to polka music; enjoyed going to auctions and thrift sales; deer hunting; and liked to travel and visit relatives. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and grandchildren. Fishing was one of Glen's favorite pastimes with his grandchildren. Throughout his life, he would help his dad and uncle on the family farm, and in later years, was proud to work with his grandsons on the farm. He also enjoyed helping his granddaughters with math homework and playing Skip-Bo card games after school.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Karen of Chippewa Falls; daughter, Christine (Richard) Loiselle of Eau Claire; sons, Scott (Tami) Schick of Green Bay, Brent (Kristine) Schick of Chippewa Falls; a brother, Dale Schick Sr. of Menomonie; and his four beloved grandchildren, Jordan and Nathan Loiselle, and Haley and Hannah Schick.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David; two sisters-in-law, Donna and Deborah.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 4 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Terri Koca officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, May 3 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.

AFTERSERVICE:

A funeral service for Glen W. Schick, 71, of Chippewa Falls, town of Eagle Point, was held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 4, 2012 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Terri Koca officiated and music was provided by Judy Brist.

Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Casket bearers were: Brent and Scott Shick, Richard, Jordan and Nathan Loiselle.
