Harold A. Guthrie, 77, of 6 W. Grand Ave., Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, August 13, 2014.

He was born July 19, 1937 in Bloomer to Thelma (Boyer) and Amos Guthrie. He was raised in the Stanley, Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls area. Harold was proud to serve in the National Guard. He worked on Bruce Johnson's farm and Arden Carlson's farm, both in Eagle Point.

Harold enjoyed snowmobiling in his younger days, and later enjoyed touring with Betty Larson Tours. He also enjoyed playing bingo with the many friends he had made over the past 20 years living at the Northern Apartments in Chippewa Falls.

Survivors include a sister Elsie (Ernest) Iverson of LaCrescent, Minnesota; three brothers, Andy Guthrie of Chippewa Falls, Amos (Verena) Guthrie of Raceland, Louisiana, Gene (Karen) Guthrie of New Braunfels, TX; step-sister, Gladys Suckow of St. Paul, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Wilbur (in infancy), Gerald and Dale Guthrie; and two step-brothers, John and George James.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 16 at Central Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls with Rev. Aaron Sturgis officiating. Interment will be in Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

AFTERSERVICE:

A funeral service for Harold A. Guthrie, 77, of Chippewa Falls was held on Saturday, August 16 at Central Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Aaron Sturgis officiated and music was provided by organist, Marilyn Brace and soloist, Pam Moran.

Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie and casket bearers were Dale Picht, Dan Loeffelholz, Alex Leis, Vince Koskovich, Jeff Klemke and Travis Leis.
