Harvey L. Hanson, 84, of Eau Claire, formerly of Chippewa Falls, died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at his home.

He was born in Eau Claire to Cora and Helmer Hanson. Harvey graduated from Eau Claire High School; then he served honorably in the U.S. Navy. Harvey continued his education earning a B.S. in Industrial Arts. He taught Industrial Arts until obtaining his Masters Degree in Safety Education.

In 1955, he married Alvina Rudolphson at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Altoona. They resided in Chippewa Falls where Harvey taught Drivers Education until his retirement. He enjoyed many wonderful times fishing with his grandsons at their family cabin. He will be dearly missed.

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls.

Survivors include his wife Alvina of Eau Claire; two daughters: Karen Hanson (Terry Overall) of Kenmore, WA and Jane Dienger (Dan) of Chippewa Falls; his sister June Matoushek of Madison and brother, Jerry (Sharon) Hanson Coeur DAlene Idaho; and two grandsons, Mathew and Jason Dienger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Roy Hanson, sister-in-law Mary Hanson, and brother-in-law Marty Matoushek.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 17 at Faith Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. William Plautz officiating.

Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m., Monday at the church.

AFTERSERVICE

A funeral service for Harvey L. Hanson, 84, of Eau Claire was held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 17 at Faith Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. William Plautz officiated and music was provided by Barbara Sandford. Interment will be at a later date at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.
