Helen S. Anderson, 84, of Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.
She was born July 11, 1928 in Chippewa Falls to Karine (Helseth) and Oscar Bjork. She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1946. Following high school, Helen worked at Gillettes Tire Company. She then started cooking for The Flame Restaurant and for the school system in Chippewa Falls.
Helen married Wilford Andy Anderson in 1950 in Chippewa Falls. They lived in Chippewa Falls where Helen made their home and raised their children.
Helen was a very talented person she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, painting, ceramics and quilting. Over the years, she made dozens of quilts for her loved ones. She also made beautiful porcelain dolls. Her passion was ceramics. She started Helens Ceramics, at her home, where she taught classes and also sold her artwork.
Survivors include her husband Andy, three sons, Gary (Colleen) Anderson of Bellflower, CA, Terry (Donna) Anderson of Chippewa Falls, Jeff Anderson of Downsville; a sister, Kathleen Landsem of Chippewa Falls; two brothers, Elmer (JoAnne) Bjork, James (Lorraine) Bjork all of Chippewa Falls; a sister-in-law, Marge Bjork of Chippewa Falls; five grandchildren, Chris Anderson of Woodbury, MN, Heather (Bobby) Merigan of Huntington Beach, CA, Dawn (Mike) Matazinski of Menomonie, Nolan Anderson of Bellflower, CA, Lindsey Anderson of Milwaukee; nieces, nephews and Clay Crowley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Gordon, John and Kenneth Bjork; and a brother-in-law, Conrad Landsem.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 13 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Intern Pastor Aaron Sturgis of Central Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be Tuesday, May 14 in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral chapel.
