Helen Meyer

Helen O. Meyer, 99, of LaCrosse, formerly of Chippewa Falls, died Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Bethany Riverside, LaCrosse.

She was born April 11, 1918 in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, to Anna (Miller) and William Ost. She was baptized May 5, 1918 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Reedsburg. Helen graduated from Reedsburg High School in 1936, and she was employed as a secretary for Dolly Madison Dairies.

On September 20, 1941, Helen and Robert J. Meyer were united in marriage. The couple lived in Reedsburg before moving to Chippewa Falls in 1959. Robert preceded her in death on August 5, 1999. In 2009, Helen moved to LaCrosse to be near her family.

Helen was a devoted member of Faith Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls and a member of their Ladies Aide. She was active in the Mobile Meals program, delivering meals and also serving on the Board of Directors.

Survivors include two daughters, Roberta Ross of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Christine (Jeffrey) Stolz of LaCrosse; a son, Daniel (Patricia) Meyer of Amery; grandchildren, Laura Launikitis, Julie (Michael) LoPinto, Becky Ross, Kelly (Michael) Nechuta, William Stolz, Catherine Stolz; great-grandchildren, Daniel and Ryan Nasser, Emma LoPinto, Ryan and Lydia Nechuta; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her dear husband, Robert; sister, Catherine (Carl) Krause; two brothers, Donald (Fawn) and Leon (Ann) Ost; son-in-law, Bert Ross; and grandson-in-law, James Launikitis.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 5 at Faith Lutheran Church, 733 Woodward Ave., Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Charles Yunghans officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Helen’s honor may be designated to Faith Lutheran Church.
