Helen Sippel

Helen L. Sippel, 84, of 12269 22nd Ave., Chippewa Falls, village of Lake Hallie, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at home while being cared for by her devoted family and the compassionate staff of St. Joseph's Hospice.

She was born July 20, 1927 in Eau Claire to Rose (Fritz) and Charles Hess.

Helen married Richard Sippel on July 31, 1947 in Chippewa Falls. They resided in the Village of Lake Hallie all of their married life, where Helen raised their children and made their home.

Survivors include: a daughter, Barbara Knorn of Chippewa Falls; three sons, Jerry Sippel of Eau Claire, Victor (Lona) Sippel, and Roger Sippel all of Chippewa Falls; five grandchildren, Travis (Noemy), Wesley (Jenny), Jill, Dustin and Daniel Sippel; five great-grandchildren, Kayla, Victor, Sammy, Sarah and Abby; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Richard on June 13, 2005; her son, Ralph on Nov. 7, 2006; two sisters, Mabel and Viola; and her brother, Roger.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, January 6 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Robert Hoekstra, chaplain of St. Joseph's Hospice, officiating. Spring interment will be in Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Helen enjoyed fishing and gambling trips to Turtle Lake and to Laughlin, Nevada. She also loved wearing hats. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
