Helen Young

Helen Monica Young, 95, of 703 High St., Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center in Chippewa Falls.

She was born October 24, 1914 in Chicago, Ill., to Simon and Jeannie Sadowski. After her parents deaths she was adopted by Joseph and Elizabeth (Cote) Paquette. She was raised in Chippewa Falls where she attended Notre Dame Grade School and graduated from McDonell Memorial High School in 1932. She then graduated from Eau Claire State Teachers College and received a BA in education and later a masters degree. Helen was employed during WW II for the U.S. Defense Department in Eau Claire and Washington D.C. She then returned to Chippewa Falls and was employed at the Chippewa Herald Telegram where she wrote a daily column on the "Chippewa Boys" serving in the war.
