Ida Mae Michaud, 93, of Montgomery, AL, formerly of Chippewa Falls, town of Anson, died Friday, October 25, 2013 at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery.
She was born December 19, 1919 in Chippewa Falls to Rachel (Carr) and Joseph W. Dawe. She was raised in Chippewa Falls and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1939.
On February 7, 1940, Ida married Wilson Michaud in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Wilson served in the U.S. Army from 1938 until 1971, and during that time, they resided at multiple military reservations in the U.S. and Japan, Alaska, and Germany. When Wilson retired from the military, they moved to Chippewa Falls, where Ida worked at Mason Shoe Company. In 1998, they moved to Montgomery to be near their children.
Ida enjoyed gardening, traveling throughout the U.S. in their travel trailer, and going to casinos where she never lost.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy Pujo; a son, Steven (Jana) Michaud, all of Montgomery; a son-in-law, Robert Denslow of Kennewick, WA; six grandchildren, Tammy (Bill) Hughes, Ronnie Ford, Michael (Melissa Skelton) Michaud, Chris Denslow, Matthew (Wendy) Michaud, Leslie Michaud; three great-grandchildren, Catharine, Richard and Emily Michaud; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilson on September 18, 2007; a daughter, Connie Denslow ; two sisters, Isla J. Volker, Doris Roycraft; a brother, Charles Dawe and a daughter-in-law, Belinda Michaud.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 1 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Rev. Jim Woldhuis officiating.
A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral chapel.
