Irene E. Jacobson, 90, of Chippewa Falls, town of Lafayette, died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at her home while under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice.

She was born January 24, 1924 in Chippewa Falls to Florence (Nicolai) and Henry Wiensch.

She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1942.

On December 26, 1946, Irene married Alton Jacobson in Chippewa Falls. They resided in Chippewa Falls where Irene worked for Mason Shoe for 44 years, retiring as the first woman supervisor, in 1986.

She was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls.

Survivors include a nephew, Dennis (Arlys) Krause and their children, Willy and Amy, all of Chippewa Falls; close friend and neighbor, Lisa Horak of Chippewa Falls; and special family, Don (Diane) Dulian and their family, Jeremy Dulian, Laurie Sahm, Arlyona and Domenic.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alton on April 8, 1975; a nephew, Gerald Jacobson; and special friend, Doug Marek.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 23 at Notre Dame Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Mark Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Visitation will be one-half hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.

A special thank you to Irene's caregivers: Rachel Boss, Jean Taylor, Joyce Siverly, Judy Nehring, Kim Sarauer, Linda Weber, Susi Staves, Kelly Zais and Stacy Faschingbauer for their kindness and devotion. And thank you to St. Joseph's Hospice for their wonderful care. Irene will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her, including her little dog, Lacey.

AFTERSERVICE

A funeral service for Irene E. Jacobson, 90, of the town of Lafayette, was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 23 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, Chippewa Falls. Rev. Msgr. Mark Pierce was celebrant of the funeral Mass and music was provided by Judy Brist. Gift bearers were Domenic and Arlyona Hazelton. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Casket bearers were Kelly Zais, Stacy Faschingbauer, Lisa Horak, Don Dulian, Dennis and Willy Krause.
