Irene B. Woll, 86, of Hudson, formerly of the town of Anson, Chippewa Falls, died peacefully Friday, March 23, 2012 at her home while under the care of St. Jude Hospice.

She was born July 11, 1925 in the town of Sigel, Chippewa County, to Ruby (Wilson) and Oren Rivard. She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School.

Irene married Raymond Woll on June 12, 1946 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls. The couple resided in Chippewa Falls, where Irene worked as a clerk at Oleson Drug for over 32 years. She then worked at the Medicine Shoppe and at the Chippewa Falls Middle School. Ray preceded her in death on May 10, 1998, at which time Irene moved to New Richmond to be near her daughter and family.

While living in Chippewa Falls, Irene was an active member of the community. She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church for over 55 years; life member of the Order of the Eastern Star #112; and life member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #1038.

Survivors include her daughter, Sally (Michael) Reiter of Osceola; two sisters, Bernice Lancette of Eau Claire, Elaine (Roger) Sharp of Holcombe; grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Atkinson of Hudson, Matthew (Angela) Reiter of Grayslake, IL; great-grandchildren, Sophia and Zachary Atkinson, Garrin, Brady and Hadley Reiter; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; a brother, Lyman Rivard; and her grandson, Eric Reiter.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 28 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

Irene enjoyed life and liked making others happy as well. Her greatest loves were her family. She had many favorite pastimes including: dancing, especially polka and waltz; sewing; knitting; and embroidering. She also enjoyed cheering on her favorite Wisconsin teams: the Packers, Brewers, Badgers and the Chippewa Falls Cardinals.

AFTERSERVICE

A memorial service for Irene B. Woll, 86, of Hudson, was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Paul Oppedahl officiated and music was provided by Judy Brist. Personal reflections were shared by Eric Atkinson and readings were given by Matthew and Angela Reiter. Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
