She was born October 6, 1938 in Chippewa Falls to Kathryn (Moskewitz) and Malcom "Bud" Ball. She attended Chestnut Grade School and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1956.

Jackie attended UW-Madison. She worked at WISM Radio and TV in Milwaukee, then at KSTP TV in Minneapolis. She was then employed by the Chippewa Falls School System where she worked at 9th Ward, 1st Ward and Chippewa Falls Middle School for many years.

Jackie married David Peterson on February 18, 1967 in Eau Claire. After their marriage they resided in the town of Hallie, where David farmed.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls.

Jackie will always be remembered for her unique style, pink sparkle and colorful personality. Most important to Jackie was her family and friends. On the first Wednesday of each month, Jackie enjoyed visits from and cherished time spent with old high school friends. Every Thursday, without fail, her very dear special brother, "David Lester Ball" as Jackie called him, would bring her a box of donuts that she would share with friends. No one on earth could make Jackie laugh like her brother David could. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include a son, Mike (Cheryl) Peterson; a daughter, Kris (Troy) Terhark; a brother David (Barbara) Ball, all of Chippewa Falls; four grandchildren, Taylor and Makenna Peterson and baby Peterson due in June, David and Riley Terhark; dear family friend, Kelly Jo Bowe; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband David on April 14, 2002.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 14 at Christ Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls with Rev. Mark Homp officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
