James R. "Jimmy" Berg, 56, died peacefully on Monday, May 9, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls.

He was born with Down Syndrome on September 21, 1959 to Ingwald "Red" and Irene (Podhola) Berg. Jimmy always had a gentle smile that would melt the hearts around him.

He lived a fabulous life with his mother Irene, until the Lord took her under His wing in 2006. Jimmy then went to live at Independent Outlook where he was well taken care of.

Jimmy was loved by all. He was known for loving his beer (Just one) ! He enjoyed camping at O'Neil Creek, competing in the Special Olympics and cheering on the Packers! He left us with many cherished memories. Jimmy was a cancer survivor and passed with congestive heart failure.

He is survived by his three sisters, Marlene Mrdutt of Chippewa Falls, Linda (Randy) Dresel of Chippewa Falls, Pamela (Keith) Hughes of Oshkosh; two brothers, Dennis (Mary) Berg of Weyerhaeuser, Darryl Berg of Chippewa Falls; sister-in-law, Vicky Berg of Chippewa Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Ingwald "Red" Berg in 1965; his mother, Irene P. Berg in 2006; and a brother, William "Bill" in 1989. May they all rest in peace.

Jimmy, you will always be loved and will remain in our hearts forever.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 13 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Hoekstra officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral chapel.
