James Paulson

James F. “Jim” Paulson, 82, of Chippewa Falls died Wednesday, June 20, 2018 surrounded by family at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.

He was born August 31, 1935 in Chippewa Falls to Harold and Edith (Sorum) Paulson.

Jim was always in the plastics industry and for the last 15 years was part owner of Bloomer Plastics. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, watching football and hockey, and jumped at the chance for anything involving building or construction.

For many years Jim spent the winter months in Bonita Springs, FL with his wife, Marlene.

Jim is survived by his wife of 36 years, Marlene; children, Michael (Michelle), Tim, Jeff and Dave (Lori) Paulson, and Sue Eissens; former spouse, Mary (Bob) Sumner; grandchildren, Michael and Italia Gibbons, Trinity LaTella, Tucker, Blake and Jenna Paulson, and Amanda and Ashley Eissens; great-grandchild, Dalton Schlagel; sisters-in-law, Dianne Schroeder and Rose Ann and Darlene Welke; as well as many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Edwin and Erna Welke; and brothers-in-law, Eugene and Earl Welke and Howard Schroeder.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 23 at the Chapel of the Resurrection at Chippewa Manor with Rev. Robert Hoekstra officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m.

Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Sacred Heart Hospital and Chippewa Manor, especially Fr. Bob Hoekstra, for their exceptional care for Jim.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Irvine Park or donor’s choice.
