James Albert "Beby" "Nip" Popple, 91, of Dove Health Care in Eau Claire, formerly of the town of Eagle Point and Hetzel Care Center in Bloomer, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Dove Health Care.
He was born September 18, 1918 in the town of Eagle Point to Emma (King) and James Popple. He grew up near Popple Lake in the town of Eagle Point. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was a Purple Heart recipeint. Jim spent most of his life working on farms in the Eagle Point area. Nip spent many years living with his sister, Evelyn Bergeron in the town of Eagle Point and enjoyed the farm life. He moved to Hetzel Care Center in June 1999 and then moved to Dove Health Care in 2005.
