James Weaver

James M. Weaver, 79, of Chippewa Falls, died at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire on Friday May 11, 2018.

On April 11, 1939, James was born to Percy and Mable (Benash) Weaver in Dwight, IL. James proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy until his honorable discharge. He married Vera James on June 8, 1978, in Chippewa Falls, where they resided since that time. James was a member of the Eau Claire Masonic Lodge for many years.

He spent his career working for the Department of Labor.

James was an avid fisherman, even if the fish weren't biting, he enjoyed listening to the loons and watching the eagles. His other love was hunting, often taking trips with his family and friends out west for special hunts. Gatherings at the cabin and deer seasons past will be fond recollections for all with many stories and tall tales to be retold for years to come. Special times spent at the lake cabin, epic summer family camping trips with him at the helm and his sense of humor will be cherished memories for those who loved him so dearly.

James was a loving husband, father and grandfather that will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

James is survived by his daughters, Mary (Justin) Aylward of Brainerd, MN; sons, James (Stacy) Weaver of Medford, WI, and Daniel Weaver of Pasadena, CA; grandchildren, Skylar, Sydney and Olivia; brother, Gerry (Sara) Weaver; son, Doug (Kim) and their children, Evan and Kendolyn; daughter, Susan (Kevin) their children, James and Shannon; daughter, Karen Weaver; and his canine companion, who meant the world to him, Jake.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Vera.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, 44 E. Columbia Street, with a public Masonic Service beginning at 6:45 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 2025 East River Parkway, Minneapolis MN, 55414.
