Jerry D. Mense, 80, of Chippewa Falls, died Tuesday, April 14, 2015.
He was born October 1, 1934 in Menomonie to Mildred (Clark) and Hugo Mense. He was raised in Menomonie and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1952.
Jerry married Adeline Roder on January 23, 1954 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls. They resided in Chippewa Falls since the time of their marriage.
He was employed at Presto, Chippewa Springs, Northern Center and Senn Blacktop, until having a self-employed care service for several physicians' private homes in the Wheeler area.
Jerry was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to ice fish, hunt and trout fish on the Clark Fork River in Montana. He was usually found tinkering, taking things apart or recycling.
Survivors include three daughters, Evelyn (Jim) Grossklaus of Eau Claire, Linda (Van Dremmel) Bowe of Chippewa Falls, Janice (Randy) Snider of Hayward; three sons, Dean (JoAnn) Mense of Durand, Dale (Su) Mense of Altoona, Lorry (Renee Kittelson) Mense of Eau Claire; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Fred Mense of Menomonie; a brother-in-law, Roger Clouse of Chippewa Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Adeline on November 1, 2012; son-in-law, Martin Bowe; sister, Myrna Clouse; and a sister-in-law, Marie Mense.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., Saturday, April 18 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Rev. Rolf Nestingen officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral chapel.
