Joan Bergerson

Joan M. Bergerson, 88, of Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Our House Memory Care.

She was born August 31, 1929 in the town of Colburn, Chippewa County, the daughter of William and Doreen (Brunette) Ouimet.

Joan married Alvin Bergerson on June 26, 1947. They resided in Chippewa Falls were Joan was a stay-at-home mom and then worked at the Northern Center until she retired.

She is survived by her husband, Alvin of Chippewa Falls; five children, Sharon Dupey of Wausau, Linda (Marty) Rood of Arizona, Dennis (Sue) Bergerson of Jim Falls, Pam (Steve) Bruley of Eau Claire, and Sheryl Bergerson of Eau Claire; six grandchildren, Mike, Matt, Olivia, Brenda, Ryan and Danielle; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings, Janice Mercier, George Ouimet, Joseph Ouimet, Kay Ouimet, Patricia Wilson and John Ouimet.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kenneth, William, Robert and Dwayne; and a sister, Doris West.

Joan enjoyed the family years with camping and later years, being a winter bird in Donna, Texas for 15 years. She loved flowers and it didn’t matter if they were in a pot or in the ground. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, bingo, gambling, and baking for others.

A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, October 21 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Terri Koca of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday morning at the funeral chapel.
