Joan Gunn

Joan A. Gunn, 80, of Lake Hallie, Chippewa Falls, died peacefully, at her home, under the care of Mayo Clinic Home Health and Hospice and her family, on Monday, May 21, 2018.

Joan was born to Thinious and Myrtle (Mattson) Glenna on February 25, 1938, in Eau Claire. Joan was united in marriage to Keith Gunn on August 3, 1957 in Eau Claire. Joan was a devoted pastors wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed singing “Thank you, Thank you, Jesus” with her great-grandchildren, making lefse and banana bread, and playing “solitairey.” She loved Jesus and the word of God.

Joan is survived by her husband of 60 years, Keith; daughters, Shelly (Keith) Wilson of Seattle, WA, and Kandi (Pablo) Marticorena of Lake Hallie; sons, Dalen (Mary) Gunn of Coeur d'Alene, ID, Steven (Terri) Britten of Seattle, WA, Jeff Britten of Eau Claire, Charles Britten of Lake Hallie, daughter, Tammy (Mike) Drechsler, of Ladera Ranch, CA; grandchildren, Elisha, Elijah, Brian “Dalen”, Lyndsey, Camille, Angel, Brittany, Chelsey, Dominic, Elias, Felicity, Joni, Justin, Hollie, Jacob, Michael, Brooke, Adam & Emme; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Hendricks; and brothers, Raymond, Jim (Janet) and Maynard (Sherry) Glenna.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Brian Gunn; and brothers, Donnie, Mike & Merlin.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Zion Christian Fellowship Church, 11555 35th Avenue, Chippewa Falls, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Charlie Schaefer will be officiating. Interment will be in Brunswick Cemetery, Town of Brunswick, Eau Claire County.
