Joan M. Werner, 76, of Chippewa Falls, died Monday, February 11, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family and under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice.

She was born March 7, 1936 in Eau Claire to Irma L. (Wells) and Edgar K. Vogler. She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1954 and then attended Eau Claire Vocational School graduating in 1954 with a secretarial degree. She worked as a secretary for 18 years for many local schools.

Joan married Donald Werner on April 27, 1957 at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls. They were members of Central Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls. Don preceded her in death on October 2, 2011.

Survivors include three daughters, Carol (Joel) Berg, Sue Erickson all of Chippewa Falls, Pam Smith of St. Paul; two brothers, Keith (Kris) Vogler of Cottonwood, AZ, John (Pat) Vogler of Owine, Iowa; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Don.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, February 21 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rick Hoyme of Central Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 27 (Joan and Donald's anniversary date) at Prairie View Cemetery in Lake Hallie.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated and may be designated to the American Lung Association.

SERVICE:

A memorial for Joan M. Werner, 76, of Chippewa Falls, was held at 1 p.m., Thursday, February 21 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Rick Hoyme of Central Lutheran Church officiated and music was provided by Judy Brist. Personal reflections were given by daughter Pam Smith and granddaughter Cassie Werner.

Interment will be at a later date in Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie.
