John Hanson

John D. Hanson, 74, of Madison,passed away onSunday, January, 19, 2014 at St. Marys Hospital in Madison with his family by his side.

He was born May 29, 1939 in Chippewa Falls to Sylvia B. (Aune) and John O. Hanson. He grew up in Chicagoand after graduating from High School in 1957, he attended the University of Wisconsin - Madison, from 1957-1961 graduating with a bachelor's degree in history.Following graduation in June 1961, John married his college sweetheart, Norma J."NJ" Pfeifferon August 26, 1961. John graduatedfrom the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School in 1964. Following his graduation from Law school, John served in the U.S. Army from 1964 until being honorably discharged in 1966. John and Normaresided in Ft. Benning, GA, Ft. Wainwright, AK and in 1966, returned to Madison andhave resided there since that time; John had a private law practice with others and Norma was a librarian for the City of Madison. Norma preceded John in death on March 23, 2011.

Survivors include his son, John S. (fianc, Nella Adams) Hanson of Holmen; and hisdaughter, Stephanie L. (Robert) Konstanz of West Bend;his grandchildren, Courtney R. Hanson, Diana L. Hanson, John C. Hanson and London Adams; step granddaughter, Danielle Konstanz; and step grandson, Nick Konstanz; brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents;his wife, Norma; and three sisters-in-law.

The family would like to express special thanks to staff at St. Mary's Hospital (MICU, 5th and 8th floors) for their extraordinary efforts on behalf of our father/grandfather. MTY-LTT

At John's specific request, there will not be visitation and a private burial will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls, WI.
