John Golden Maxey, 48, of Fall Creek, died Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. Johns giving continued even after his death with his tissue and organs being donated to those in need. His family appreciates knowing this gift will benefit many and that Johns life will continue in a very special way.

He was born March 8, 1966 in Seneca, South Carolina to Jennine (Bloom) and James Maxey. At a young age, his family moved to Tomah, where John attended high school.

On July 15, 1989, John married Rita Walders in Chippewa Falls. They resided in Chippewa Falls and raised their two children. He and Rita later divorced. John worked for Leinenkugels Brewing Co, and then owned and operated a pressure washing business.

When John wasnt baking cookies with his granddaughter Brooke, he enjoyed fishing with his daughter Kallie, NASCAR and Formula One car racing, and building model cars. He and his son Kyler also loved jamming out together.

He will be dearly missed by his daughter, Kalli Maxey; his son, Kyler Maxey; granddaughter, Brooke, all of Eau Claire; his father and stepmother, James and Bertha Maxey of Cherryville, NC; two sisters, Suzanne (Brian) Butterfuss of Tomah, Holly (Donald) Bell of Cherryville, NC; two brothers, Jennings Maxey of Florida, David (Nicky) Maxey of Wyoming; special friend, Lynn Bauer of Fall Creek; many nieces and nephews; and his cat, Ming Ming, who shared a special language with John.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 18 at Bethel Church in Eau Claire with Rev. Tom Couture officiating.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and appreciated.
