John M. “Captain Quigs” Quigley, 65 of Eau Claire, died on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
John was born on September 23, 1952, to Gerald and Patricia (Treis) Quigley in Chippewa Falls. He graduated from McDonnell Central Catholic High School. John attended the University of MN in the Minneapolis. He married Carolynne Stackruck and had one son, Casey. John later married Lynette Koehler.
John owned Captain Quigs bar by Lake Wissota. He then worked for Rural Mutual Insurance retiring after 25 years. Most recently, he worked for Hutchinson Technology in Eau Claire.
John enjoyed camping, golfing, kayaking, traveling and was an avid Packers fan. Anyone that knew John, knew that he was a hard-working man and a good provider for his family.
John is survived by his wife, Lynette; son, Casey (Desiree) Quigley; step-children, Karis, Aria, and Timothy Kampfer; grandchildren, Dominiek, Paityn, and Mylie Quigley; siblings, Jeanne (Dennis) Boisvert, Joan Quigley (Wally Chevier), Jim (Denyse) Quigley, Mary (Ron) Giles, Geri (Mark) Falch, Tom (Jaci) Quigley, and Bill Quigley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Patricia; step-father, Wayne Anderson; and sister-in-law, Cathie Quigley.
A funeral mass will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2018, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th Street, Eau Claire, with a visitation beginning at 3 p.m. until the time of mass at church. Fr. Tom Krieg and Fr. John Schultz will be officiating.
