Judith Wilson

Judith M. Wilson, 80, of Chippewa Falls, formerly of the town of Wheaton, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls.

She was born August 12, 1930 in Pontiac, Michigan to Judith (Engberg) and Harley Schanck. As a child, she lived in Ironwood, Michigan. Her family then moved to Ladysmith where Judith graduated as salutatorian of her graduating class from Ladysmith High School in 1948

Judith continued her education at the College of St. Olaf in Northfield, Minnesota where she earned her teaching degree. She taught in Northern Minnesota for a short time until her marriage.

Judith married Dr. Earl Wilson on June 27, 1953 at Hope Lutheran Church in Ladysmith and has resided in Chippewa Falls since their marriage. She raised her family and then worked for the DNR in computer programming for 15 years, retiring in 1995. She and Earl loved spending time with family up north at their cabin. Earl preceded her in death on May 23, 2010.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Chippewa Falls.

Survivors include: three sons, Wade M. (Pat Rineck) Wilson of Shoreview, Minn., David C. Wilson of Park Falls, Scott T. Wilson of Waukesha; a brother, Charles (Carlene) Schanck of Stevens Point; two grandchildren, Eric E. and Alisa M. Wilson.

She was predeceased by: her parents; her husband; a son, Kim E. Wilson on July 5, 1983.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 23 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Rev. Terri Koca of Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Friends may call from 4-6 p.m., Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral chapel.

Contributions in Judith's memory may be designated to Trinity United Methodist Church, Chippewa Falls.

A funeral service for Judith M. Wilson, 80, of Chippewa Falls, formerly of the town of Wheaton, was held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 23 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Terri Koca of Trinity United Methodist Church officiated and music was provided by organist, Judy Brist and soloist, Doug Parker. Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls and casketbearers were Judith's family: sons, Wade and Scott Wilson; grandchildren, Eric and Alisa Wilson; and nephews, Paul and Kurt Schanck.
