Judy Gassen

Judy C. Gassen, age 66, of Chippewa Falls, town of Eagle Point, passed away at her home on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, while under the care of St. Joseph’s Hospice.

She was born March 2, 1951 in Colfax to Doris (Hanson) and Marshall Woodford. She graduated from Colfax High School.

Judy lived in Bloomer for many years before moving to the Chippewa Falls/Hallie area.

For most of Judy’s life, she was a caregiver to others. Her nurturing nature allowed her to care for three beloved grandchildren while they were growing, and several ill family members over the years. She will be forever remembered for selflessly putting others before herself.

Judy also enjoyed flower gardening, to cook, grill-outs, and an occasional beer.

She will be dearly missed by her son, Jerry (Lori Peterson) Gassen of Chippewa Falls; a brother, Larry Woodford and his significant other, Dawn, and her children, Ben and Jordan; three grandchildren, Jenna (fiancé, Tanner) of Altoona, Justin and Evan of Chippewa Falls; a great-grandson, Bentley; and her beloved cat, Mallory Knox.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her stepfather, Frank Koepke.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, September 11 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Brad Crocker officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral chapel.
