Julia L. "Betty" Jankowski, 86, of 315 Marshall St., Chippewa Falls, died Friday, September 30, 2011 at The Rutledge Home, Chippewa Falls in the loving arms of her husband of 69 years.
She was born March 3, 1925 in Plover to Frances "Edna" (Wilmot) and Percy Roberts. Betty and her family moved to Milwaukee in the 1930's. She received her formal education in the Milwaukee Public School System.
Betty married Chester Jankowski on February 12, 1942 in Milwaukee's St. Josaphat's Basilica. She and her family moved to Chippewa Falls on May 30, 1948. Betty was an excellent partner, mother, housewife and cook. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In 1960 as a member of Notre Dame Parish, she served as president of the Parish Council Women for two years.
She loved playing poker with her lady friends for more than 25 years. She also loved doing crossword puzzles and loved to read.
Survivors include: her husband, Chet; a daughter, Denise (Richard) Woodcock of Chippewa Falls; grandchildren, Robyn Woodcock of Eau Claire, Hannah (Nicholas) Kressin of Elk Mound, Casey (Nicole) Woodcock of Stanley; two great-grandsons, Caleb and Carsen Woodcock and one great-granddaugher, Carlee Woodcock, who referred to their great-grandmother as "Grandma Benny."
She was preceded in death by: her parents; two sons, Thomas and Paul Jankowski; a daughter, Sally Jankowski and her mother and father in-law, Frank and Angeline Jankowski.
A memorial service for Betty will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 7 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel with Deacon Thomas Kinnick of St. Charles Borromeo officiating. The rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m., Friday at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Friends may call at the funeral chapel on Friday, October 7, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

A memorial service for Julia L. "Betty" Jankowski, 86, of Chippewa Falls was held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 7 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. Deacon Thomas Kinnick of St. Charles Borromeo Church officiated and music was provided by organist, Barbara Sandford and vocalist Doug Parker. Personal reflections were shared by Betty's grandson, Casey Woodcock.
Prior to the service Deacon Kinnick lead family and friends in reciting the rosary. Interment will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
