Julie A. Frank, 61, of Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, May 24, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Her generosity through organ donation will allow her beautiful spirit to live on through the many recipients of this gift.

She was born February 6, 1953 in Chippewa Falls to Rosemary (Peil) and Kenneth Sommerfeld. She grew up in Chippewa Falls and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1971.

On November 24, 1973, Julie married the love of her life Michael Frank and was a loyal and loving wife for the past 40 years. They lived in Chippewa Falls where Julie raised their three children and made their home. Julie and Mike's deep bond was a guide for their children to draw from in their own relationships. She loved to snuggle up against Mike at every opportunity and wouldn't go a day without saying "I love you." They were inseparable - even if away for a few hours she would check in to see how he was doing. The did everything together.

She dedicated her life to caring for her children and created a home filled with love and laughter. When sick, she was always there for them. When they slept in, she was an alarm clock who woke them up by singing. She always told them that they could do anything that they set their mind to and she believed in them. She was a natural teacher and always encouraging. She was a fun mom who loved to dance and joke with her kids. She was an excellent listener who gave her children someone to talk with about ANYTHING. She loved them unconditionally. Her children couldn't have asked for a more loving mom.

Julie was a friend to so many, even strangers she had just met. She always kept in touch with friends through calls and cards sent for all occasions, but especially when someone needed encouragement. Her sense of humor and laugh were contagious. While she enjoyed bargain hunting with friends and finding a good deal, she always valued people more than things. She had a spontaneous spirit and would jump at the chance to experience adventures and spend time with friends playing Rummy Royale, paddle boating, walking, exercising, dancing, traveling or just being together. Julie never judged others and was always willing to listen to their story and offer support. Julie is a forever friend.

She was beautiful, funny, giving, forgiving, kind-hearted, extremely patient, excellent at listening, compassionate, selfless, and she loved big, long hugs. She loved to teach crafts to her children and grandchildren. She loved her flower garden. She loved meeting new people and sharing her life story with them as well as learning everything about them. She loved her cats. She enjoyed howling at the moon. She was fun.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Mike of Chippewa Falls; two daughters, Sarah (Kevin) Acker of Lodi, Melissa (Tony) Lemmers of Little Chute; a son, Nick (Jen) of Delafield; mother, Rosemary Sommerfeld of Chippewa Falls; sisters, Jane (Steve) Boiteau of Jim Falls, Rosemary Sommerfeld of Chippewa Falls, Paula (Louie) Wendland of Loudon, TN; brothers, Tom (Lucy) of Chippewa Falls, Jim (Mary) of Cambridge, Dan (Donna) of Chippewa Falls, Joel of Chippewa Falls; five grandchildren, Summer and Savannah Acker, Ben and Holly Lemmers, Claire Frank; mother-in-law, Marion Frank; brothers-in-law, Steve (Gail) Frank, Dan (Nancy) Frank, all of Chippewa Falls; numerous nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends.

She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Janet Bresina.

When you find yourself missing Julie, all you have to do is go spend some time with her husband, children, closest friends, or anyone she touched deeply and you'll find some of her best qualities within them.

A memorial celebration will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 28 at the Fill-Inn Station, 104 W. Columbia St., Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Robert Hoekstra officiating.
