June Marie (Bailey) Kemp passed away on February 17, 2025 at Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls. She was born on May 17, 1931 in Eau Claire to Jacob and Myrtle (Neville) Bailey. June graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School (now Memorial High School) in 1949. On June 24,1950, June married Richard “Dick” Bruce Kemp at North Presbyterian Church in Eau Claire.
June loved to sing in the choir at First Presbyterian Church where she was a long-time member. She would sing to her fellow residents at the Rutledge Home where she lived for the past three years.
She enjoyed golfing at Elks Country Club. She also bowled with the Elks Ladies at Falls Bowl. This lead to a tradition of bowling with her children and grandchildren during holidays. June also loved to read and passed that passion on to her children.
June is survived by her husband of 74 years, Dick Kemp; their five children, Sharon Jean Clepper of Poulsbo WA, Patricia Ann (Christine Kaufmann) of Helena MT, Robert Jon (Jane) of Townsend WI, Elizabeth Marie (Michael) Misura of Woodbury MN, Judith Lynn (Jim) Voytilla of Federal Way WA; six grandchildren, Erick Johnson of West Seattle WA, Adam (Jen Bliss) Johnson of Bainbridge Island WA, Leanna (Joe) Kristoff of St. Louis Park MN, Carissa (Erik Sand) Kemp of Boise Idaho, Bailey (Seth Keeley) Misura of Indianapolis IN, and Alex Misura of St. Paul MN; two great-grandchildren who brought smiles to her face, Colette and Kip Kristoff; a sister-in-law Dorothy Bailey; several nieces and nephews, along with other loving friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Myrtle Bailey; her siblings, Robert Bailey, Rex (Kären) Bailey, Laura (Rene) Geissler, and JoAnn (Richard) Stiff.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on February 26, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church Chippewa Falls with Reverend Ed Williams officiating. Visitation will take place at 10:00am. Luncheon at the church following service. June will be interred at Forest Hill in June 2025.
In lieu of flowers memorials to Dove Healthcare - Rutledge Home, First Presbyterian Church or First Presbyterian Food Pantry.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the staff at St. Croix Hospice and Rutledge Home who took care of June for the past three years, and lovingly referring to her as June Bug.
