Kathleen M. Plante, 89 of Chippewa Falls, died Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire.
Kathleen was born on November 23, 1925 in Chippewa Falls to Eugene and Marie (Seidling) Cosgrove. She grew up on the East Hill and graduated from McDonell Catholic High School. After graduating she worked at the Pentagon as a secretary during WWII. She returned to Chippewa Falls and worked at Uniroyal as an office secretary.
On October 25, 1947 she married Bernard Plante at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls. Once they started their family she worked at home taking care of their children. She enjoyed baking, shopping with her daughters, dancing and singing, and travelling. She loved to visit family in different states. After retirement, Kathleen and Bernard spent their winters in Florida. She had a great sense of humor and loved to give to others.
Kathleen is survived by her four daughters, Kay (Jeff) Smiskey of Chippewa Falls, Suszanne (Jeff) Ness of Jarrettsville, MD, Roxzanne (Joe) Morris of Wylie, TX, and Colleen (Harvey) Fouts of Chippewa Falls; son, Dennis Plante (significant other Barb Ayres) of Chippewa Falls; grandchildren, David (Jeanette) Fouts, Amy (Ron) Olsen, Eric (Megan) Fouts, Chad (Carrie) Pehlke, Shawn Pehlke, Troy Pehlke, Dennis (Jennifer) Plante Jr., Tiffany (Julio) Trejo, Paul Morris, Courtney (Wayne) Fisher, Alex Ness, and Christopher Ness; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister, Elaine Cosgrove (significant other Pat Greening) of Chippewa Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bernard in 2000.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 2 at The Church of Notre Dame, 117 Allen St., Chippewa Falls with Rev. Msgr. Mark Pierce officiating. Interment will be at Hope Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, November 1 and 10-10:30 a.m. on Monday at Pederson Volker Funeral Chapel, 44 E Columbia St., Chippewa Falls. There will be a Rosary Service at 4 p.m. Sunday during the visitation.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Humane Society or St. Jude.
