Kenneth Owen Brewer, 84, four-year resident of Chippewa Falls, formerly of Cloverland, Indiana, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015, at Chippewa Manor. He was born in Center Point, Indiana, on September 22, 1931 to Rex and Maggie (Humble) Brewer. He lived in Hyattsville, Maryland, during his elementary years and graduated from Lawrenceburg High School in Indiana.

Kenneth served in the Field Artillery in the Army and retired in 1978 as a Major. He additionally spent several years serving in the Indiana National Guard, from which he retired in 1991. In 1958, he received his bachelor's degree in agriculture and in 1977, his master's degree in education; both from Purdue University. His vocations included teaching high school agriculture, shop and vocational education, operating a small dairy farm and building a few houses. When he retired, Ken built his house, workshop, an experimental aircraft and the hanger where it was housed at the local airport. He belonged to and received help and encouragement from the Terre Haute chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association. In 2002, at the age of 71, Kenneth received an associate's degree in aviation technology from Ivy Tech State College in Terre Haute, enabling him to overhaul the used engine he had purchased for his plane.

Kenneth always enjoyed music. He sang in the choir at Westminster Presbyterian church of Terre Haute for a number of years, until moving to Cloverland, when he continued singing and participating at St. John's United Church of Christ.

Children include: Robert Brewer (Esther) of West Lafayette, Indiana, Linda Hull (Chuck) of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, Carole Courser (Bruce) of Clarks Hill, Indiana, Diana Brewer, Dawn Killingsworth, Christopher Brewer and Kenneth A. Brewer of Indiana; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kenneth was preceded in death by two wives, Darlene (Snell) and MaryAnn (Mehalik); his parents; his brother, Harlan Brewer; and two former wives, Evelyn (Anderson) and Doris (Giese).

A visitation was held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7th, at the Chippewa Manor Chapel, 222 Chapman Road in Chippewa Falls, with a memorial service following at 1:15. Pastor Jim Woldhuis officiated and his wife, Beverly, played some of Ken's favorite hymns on the piano.

A funeral service in Indiana is planned for 11:00 a.m., on Monday, October 12th, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. Interment with military rites is planned at Clearview Cemetery in Brazil, Indiana.
