Edward A. Kohls, 50, of Fall Creek, beloved father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away at Mayo Clinic Health System - Eau Claire surrounded by his loving family.
Edward Alan Kohls was born February 5, 1966 in Ladysmith, Wis. to Marvin Kohls and Wanda (Amundson) Kohls. He grew up in the Chippewa Falls area and attended Chippewa Falls High School. In 1996, he graduated from Chippewa Valley Technical College in the field of machine tools technology. He was currently employed at Curt Manufacturing as an OBS operator.
In 1990 he married Tammi Augustine and together they had a son, Cody, born in 1991. They later divorced but remained good friends throughout the years. In 2011 Ed became a proud grandfather to Kennedy.
Ed was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and great friend to many. He was always willing to help out his family, friends and neighbors without hesitation. He was a proud, hardworking, and humble man who loved God and his country. He always stood up for what he believed in.
He enjoyed going to the gym with his son, having a few beers with friends, bowling, grilling out, and spending time with his granddaughter, Kennedy. He loved the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, Ford mustangs, and NASCAR. He planned on buying a motorcycle, a Triumph Rocket, in the spring and enjoying life.
Ed will be remembered for his humbleness, kindness, perseverance, and his selflessness to help others. In tradition of his willingness to always help others, Ed has given the gift of life through organ donation. He will never be forgotten, but will live on through others.
Ed is survived by his son, Cody of Fall Creek; brother, Bruce Kohls of Eau Claire; sisters, Laurie Kohls of Chippewa Falls and Jennifer (Vance) Powers of Dallas, Wis.; granddaughter, Kennedy Kohls; nephew, Marshall Powers; niece, Maddy Powers; and also by his former wife, Tammi Morken and her daughters, Kara and Ella Morken of Eau Claire.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Kohls and Wanda (Amundson) Kohls.
A Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m.., Thursday January 5, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. The funeral service will held at 11 a.m., Friday, January 6 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Pastor Brad Crocker will be officiating. A time of reflection and fellowship will follow at the Fill-Inn Station.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff in the Critical Care Unit at Mayo Clinic Health System, for all the kind and loving care given to Ed as well as the UW Health Organ Donation recovery team in Madison.
