Larry N. Elstran, 70, formerly of Chippewa Falls, beloved brother, nephew, cousin and friend sadly left us on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at his home in Clinton, WA to join the rest of his wide family in a better world.

He was born on May 14, 1943 the son of Erna (Pagenkopf) and David Elstran. He graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1962. Shop classes were his favorite studies and he was to make that his lifes work. He moved to Seattle in 1962 where he apprenticed in machine shops while continuing his education at Seattle Community College. He then moved to Arizona where he was employed at ITT-Cannon and McDonnell Douglas in Meza.

Larry served in the US Army National Guard-Medical Division for six years and received an Arizona State Honor Award of Expert Badge with rifle bar. He was honorably discharged in January 1971.

The Pacific Northwest with its milder climate was his first choice of where to live, so he returned there in l972. He bought his home next door to his Aunt and Uncle Betty and Ken Sarrett on Whidbey Island. He was employed by South-End Machine Shop before joining Boeing Company in Seattle and Everett. He retired from Boeing in 2001.

Larry loved to go salmon fishing and an occasional swap-meet or garage sale with his cousins. He also loved making homemade wine which he shared with family and friends.

Survivors include a sister, Karen Elstran of Chippewa Falls; two brothers, David Butch Elstran of Las Vegas, John Lip (Claudia) Elstran of Chippewa Falls; uncles, aunts, cousins and his cat, Tiki.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

You were dearly loved, Larry. Your kindness to all, your easy-going grace and sense of humor you made friends wherever you went.

May God grant you peace and extend that peace to all of us who miss you so.

Larry was interred in the State of Washington and there will be no local services.
