LaVern "Vern" L. Erickson, age 73 of Chippewa Falls, died peacefully on Friday, January 8, 2016, at Home Place Assisted Living in Dorchester, WI. LaVern was born on October 10, 1942 to Lawrence and Irene (Metzenbauer) Erickson in Chippewa Falls, WI.

Vern enjoyed fishing, camping, growing his peach trees and drinking a cold beer.He worked most of his life as a factory worker and later in life as a custodian.

Vern is survived by his children, Len (Chris) Erickson, Tess (Jeff) Miller, Mark (Dana) Erickson, and Mike (Chantelle) Erickson; 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; one brother, James Erickson; four sisters, Carol Kelm, Shirley Minto, Beverly Zimney, and Darlene Stewart.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his longtime girlfriend, Kitty Boos.

The prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2016, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, 44 E. Columbia Street, Chippewa Falls, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Father Justin Kizewski will be officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Hope Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Kirt and the Marshfield Clinic, to all of the staff at Clark County Healthcare Center, and The Homeplace Assisted Living in Dorchester, as well as Karen Ericksen for all their heartfelt care.
