Linda Krause

Linda Alma Krause, R.T.R., RDMS, FWSRT, age 68, of Chippewa Falls, passed away from pancreatic cancer on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Eau Claire.

She was born December 5, 1948 in the town of Arthur, the daughter of Alma E. (Gerber) and Erich F. Krause. She attended Crystal Spring Grade School, Cobban and graduated from Cornell High School, class of 1967.

Linda lived in the Cobban area of Chippewa County until 1967, when she moved to Lake Wissota where she has since resided.

She attended Luther Hospital of Radiology in 1967, graduating in 1969, where she has since been employed. She also attended the University of Minnesota for Radiology and the School of Sonography at the University of Oklahoma and was instrumental in establishing the Ultrasound Program at Luther Hospital. Linda was employed in the Radiology Dept. as a Radiologist at Luther Hospital/Mayo Clinic, Eau Claire for 48 years, plus the two years she worked as a student, totaling 50 years of service in Radiology.

Linda was a long time member of the Wisconsin Society of Radiologic Technologists and was past President, Chairman of the Board, Treasurer and many other Board positions and committee positions. She received the title of Fellow of the Wisconsin Society of Radiologic Technologist. She was also active in the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, serving on several committees and in many positions over the years.

Linda loved to fish and hunt with many trophy specimens. She also enjoyed golf and bowling, of which she also won many trophies. She enjoyed working outside which included mowing lawns for her neighbors. And she loved her Packers!

She is survived by four beloved cousins, Nancy Roshell, Lois Nesvacil, both of Chippewa Falls, Karen Ek of Ladysmith, Jane (Keith) Lundsten of Lititz, Pennsylvania; special friends, Linda Erickson, Linda Stead, both of Eau Claire, and Sue Gullickson of Chippewa Falls; and very special friends, Mary Bundy of Lake Wissota and Eileen Ahlswede of Milwaukee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Eric Krause; and cousins, John Roshell and Don Nesvacil.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 7 at Our Hope Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Philip Pitt officiating. Interment will follow at Cornell Cemetery, Cornell.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., Saturday at the church.
