Lois A. Schaal, 80, of Chippewa Falls, died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at her home.
She was born May 11, 1933 in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Margaret (Johnson) and Herbert Larsen. She grew up in Chippewa Falls and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School.
On July 12, 1952, Lois married Wayne G. Schaal. While Wayne served in the U.S. Air Force, Lois lived in Provincetown, Massachusetts where their daughter was born. Upon discharge from the service, the family moved to Silver Bay, MN, where they had three more children and made their home. While living in Silver Bay, Lois worked as a teachers' aide.
Following Wayne's retirement, they moved back to Chippewa Falls, where Lois worked at Christensen Florist and volunteered at the adult day program at Wissota Health. Wayne preceded her in death in 2002.
Lois was a faithful member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls. She delighted in visits with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She enjoyed traveling with her husband and later with friends, spending time with old friends and classmates, and was anavid Packers fan. Shemet frequently with "The Lois Club."She had a generous, giving spirit and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Jeff) Ollman of Austin, MN; three sons, Mike (Diane) of Lino Lakes, MN, Dave (Jane) of Sunnyvale, CA, Steve (Kim) of Bixby, OK; two sisters, Judy Hanson of Hendersonville, TN, Sandy (Waverly Windus) Larsen of Chippewa Falls; two brothers, Bill (Ardie) Larsen of Chippewa Falls, Dick (Phyllis) Larsen of Portland, OR; a sister-in-law, Jerrie Larsen of Chippewa Falls; five grandchildren, Brandon (Amy) Schaal, Alyssa (Nick) Smith, Hilary (Dan) Genck, Matthew and Joshua Schaal; five great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Molly Smith, Arya, Lillyanna and Vincent Schaal; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Herbert "Shorty" Larsen.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 9 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 1300 Mansfield St., Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Paul Oppedahl officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., Wednesday at the church.

AFTERSERVICE
A memorial service for Lois A. Schaal, 80, of Chippewa Falls, was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 9 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls. Pastor Paul Oppehdahl officiated and music was provided by Barbara Sandford and Doug Parker. Personal reflections were given by son, Mike Schaal and granddaughter, Alyssa Smith.
