Lois M. Shipman, 94, of Chippewa Falls, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014.

She was born March 9, 1920 in Chippewa Falls to Gladys (Pepin) and Charles Dunnigan. She was raised in Chippewa Falls and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1937.

Lois married Donald Shipman on July 13, 1940 in Chippewa Falls.

She was employed as an Aide at the Northern Center from 1956 until her retirement in 1982.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Chippewa Falls.

Lois will always be remembered by her family for her caring and giving nature. She enjoyed knitting, and over the years made over 100 afghan blankets, giving them to friends and family to cherish. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne (Kermit) Culbertson of Chippewa Falls; daughter-in-law, Sharon Shipman of Rice Lake; sisters, June (Bob) Hammond of La Habra, California, Marge (Jim) Isom of Bloomington, Illinois; grandchildren, Dina (Mark) Brennan, Randy (Heidi) Culbertson, Mike (Angie) Shipman, Tom Shipman, Lori Ebner; great-grandchildren, Hailey (Tim) Bowman, Abbey Brennan, Alaina and Zachary Culbertson, Donald Shipman, Bethany and Jenna Shipman; several step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; a daughter, Judith Thomas; a son, James Shipman; a sister, Elaine Klukas; a brother-in-law, Raymond Klukas and a niece, Shirley Essman.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 9 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Rev. Terri Koca of Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral chapel.

AFTERSERVICE

A funeral service for Lois M. Shipman, 94, of Chippewa Falls was held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 9 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Terri Koca of Trinity United Methodist Church officiated and music was provided by Judy Brist. Personal reflections were given by granddaughter, Dina Brennan. Interment was in Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie. Casket bearers were Dina and Mark Brennan, Randy and Zachary Culbertson, Tom and Mike Shipman and Lori Ebner.
