Loraine C. Peissig, 94, of Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Wissota Health Reflections in Chippewa Falls.

She was born January 11, 1918 in Clark County to Henrietta (Lipka) and Rhinehardt Klocke. She grew up in Curtiss where she also attended school.

Loraine married Arthur Peissig on October 9, 1935 in Curtiss. They moved to Chippewa Falls in 1951, where Loraine worked at Mason Shoe Co. for 31 years, from August 18, 1952 until her retirement on June 30, 1983.

Loraine's faith was evident throughout her life and her church was important to her. She was baptized on February 24, 1918 and confirmed in August, 1932. She was an active member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and served in many capacities. She was a member of their Altar Guild, the Quilters Club and Ruth Circle. She was also a charter member of the Senior Center in Chippewa Falls and was active there until just a few years ago.

Full of life, Loraine whole-heartedly cheered on the Packers and the Brewers. She enjoyed watching games and was able to attend some as well. She loved to dance, especially the polka and playing cards with friends. She was well-known for her chocolate chip cookies, which she was proud to share.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Maxine Peissig and Marla McClaflin, both of Chippewa Falls; a grandson, Paul (Sherry) Schaefer of Bella Vista, Arkansas; seven great-grandchildren; and "adopted" daughters, Karen Jensen, Sally Mitscha and Kay Engebretson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on October 24, 1976;daughter, Marilyn; and son-in-law, Steven N. McClaflin.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 14 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Curtiss, WI.
