Loren was born in Shell Lake Wisconsin to Myrtle (Hunter) and Bill Sawyer. His family moved to Lewis, Wisconsin where he graduated from Frederic High School.

He met and married Carol Friberg in 1951 before entering the US Army, where he served from 1951-1953. He was especially proud of his service to his country and always remained very patriotic. Loren started his career selling cars for Ford Motor Co. and continued this for 40 plus years.

Loren and Carol raised four children in Barron and Chippewa Falls eventually retiring in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. When he wasnt at a ball game, he loved to spend time at the family cabin on Spooner Lake. He was a sports enthusiast who had a large love for the Green Bay Packers and the Winona State Warriors. His children will remember that he rarely missed a game, a concert, or any activity that they were involved in. His grandchildren and two great grandsons brought him great joy!
