Lorraine F. Radunzel, 89, of the Chippewa Manor Retirement Center, formerly of 724 S. Main St., Chippewa Falls, died Monday, October 1, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls.

She was born Lorraine Frances Olson on July 28, 1923 on the family farm near Baldwin, WI to Nels P. and Bertha (Stone) Olson. She was raised there as the youngest of seven children. She graduated from Baldwin High School in 1941.

Lorraine married Stanley Charles Radunzel on March 16, 1943 in South St. Paul, MN. While Stanley served in the US Army Air Force in England, Lorraine worked at Montgomery Wards in St. Paul, MN until his return in 1945. They moved to Chippewa Falls in 1946, living first on the Cobban block in downtown and later on Woodward Ave. They then built a house at 724 S. Main, where they resided until moving to the Chippewa Manor Retirement Center in 2002.

Stanley and Lorraine were founding members of Faith Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls and remained active there well into their retirement years. She also served as custodian at the church for many years and was a member and past officer of the Women of Faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen Schroeder Radunzel of Mesquite, Nevada, Roxanne Radunzel of Florissant, MO; four sons, Dennis (Connie) Radunzel of Bellevue, WA, Ronald (Marie) Radunzel of Madison, Thomas (Stephanie) Radunzel of Sale Creek, TN, Gerald (Justine) Radunzel of Amana, IA; ten grandchildren, Lorissa and Peter Radunzel, Ronald Jr., Elizabeth and Robert Radunzel, Grady and Aaron Schroeder, Whitney Anderson, McKenna and Kalen Radunzel; five great-granchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Stanley on June 24, 2008; two sisters, Leona Fern, Bernice Radunzel; four brothers, Stuart, Ralph, Alvin and Ernest Olson.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, October 5 at Faith Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls with Rev. William Plautz officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Visitation will be from 4-7p.m., Thursday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.

Lorraine was well loved by all who knew her and will be missed by family and friends.

AFTERSERVICE:

A funeral service for Lorraine F. Radunzel, 89, of Chippewa Falls, was held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 5, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls. Rev. William Plautz officiated and music was provided by Barbara Sandford.

Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Casket bearers were her children, Kathleen Schroeder, Dennis, Ronald, Gerald, Tom and Roxanne Radunzel.
