Jack Lower, formerly of Chippewa Falls, died January 19, 2014.
He was born February 28, 1921 in Chippewa Falls to Jennie (Gilbertson) and Gilbert Lower.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Bettye Tohill and Ruth O'Connell.
He is survived by two sisters, Marjorie (Fred) Roycraft of Chippewa Falls, Beverly (William) Lacina of Ham Lake, MN; and by numerous nieces and nephews with the family spanning four generations.
Jack earned electrical engineering degrees at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and at Purdue University in Indiana. His WWII services were at Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio and Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. He worked briefly in Chicago before joining Honeywell Aerospace for 36 years. Jack was a mainstay at the family lake cottage in Wisconsin. After his retirement, he spent 20 years in volunteer tax preparation. He also volunteered financial counseling for the handicapped. Jack was a prolific reader, using Kindle and other sources for popular books, especially books on historical fiction.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 26 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Robert Hoekstra officiating. A luncheon reception will follow at Bridgewater Restaurant, 1009 Park Ave., Chippewa Falls.
